NFL Upset Picks, Predictions Wild Card Weekend: 3 outsiders worth betting on this week

The NFL playoffs begin with six games in Wild Card Weekend, which kicks off Saturday afternoon, and we've examined all the data to compile our top three predictions for NFL teams to win on the first weekend of the postseason.

Last year, only one lower-ranked team beat a higher-ranked team on Wild Card Weekend (the 7th-ranked Packers beat the 2nd-ranked Cowboys 48-32).
Two teams (Los Angeles Chargers and Minnesota Vikings) are the favorites on the road this weekend.
Minnesota is the first 5th place team to win 14 or more games.
This is just a small part of what we offer bettors with our NFL Wild Card Weekend predictions.

Wild Card Weekend Predictions
NFL predictions made on Tuesday; odds are subject to change. Our new NFL player odds tool will help you find the best odds in any market among legal sports bettors in your area!

Packers (+195) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts hasn't played in two weeks, and one can only speculate whether the lingering concussion symptoms that have kept him out of action will prevent him from playing.

In Sao Paulo, where Green Bay suffered a 34-29 loss in Week 1, Philadelphia had a chance to get a close look at its unique running style.

But in that game, the Packers outgained the Eagles by 19 yards and became one of seven teams to pass for fewer than 100 yards per game this season.

BetMGM is the only one of our top sports betting sites to offer odds of +192 on Outsiders away, and that compares very favorably to the +170 odds at DraftKings at the other end of the market. A $10 bet at +195 odds will yield $19.50 in profit.

Best odds: +195 via BetMGM | Odds: 33.90%.

Commanders (+150) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Nineteen rookie quarterbacks have made the playoffs this century, and Jaden Daniels (along with Bo Nix) will join their number this weekend.

From 2015 through 2021, rookie quarterbacks lost six consecutive starts in the postseason. Since 2022, Brock Purdy, Skylar Thompson and C.J. Stroud have a combined 3-3 record as rookies in the playoffs.

Thompson shouldn't be penalized for the loss in the game against Buffalo, as he hasn't been the starting quarterback all season. But Daniels has been, leading the Commanders to their most wins (12) since 1991.

Washington has won five straight games, and Daniels finished the regular season ranked fourth overall in QBR and led all players (including Saquon Barkley and Derrick Henry) in EPA.

Caesars and BetMGM also offer +150 odds, while the lowest odds on Washington are +142 on DraftKings.

Best odds: +150 via bet365 | Estimated probability: 40.00%

Rams (+108) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Minnesota was one win away from not even playing this weekend and having home field advantage in the playoffs, but now they have to fly to Los Angeles for an away game despite winning four more games than the Rams.

In Week 7, Los Angeles beat Minnesota at home by a score of 30-20. And while the Vikings are an impressive 9-1 in one-point games this season, it's the Rams defense that I'm rooting for with four confidence stars.

Los Angeles allowed just two touchdowns from Week 15 through Week 17, and gave most of their players a rest in Week 18. That mental and physical rest could play a huge role against a deflated Vikings team that put everything on the line last week to earn the No. 1 ranking.

FanDuel is the only one of our top sports betting apps offering odds above +105 on a Rams win.

Best odds: +108 via FanDuel | Estimated probability: 48.08%
