Super Bowl MVP odds for Chiefs vs Eagles: Barkley pressures Mahomes as a favorite

With two teams remaining before Sunday's game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Feb. 9, the field of viable contenders for the 2025 Super Bowl MVP has shrunk considerably.

The Super Bowl MVP odds were first released at the start of the 2025 NFL playoffs. The field has shrunk with each round, and former top contenders Jared Goff, Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen are among those who will be watching at home in less than two weeks.

Here are the latest Super Bowl 2025 MVP odds after the NFC and AFC championship games and in anticipation of the title game between the Chiefs and Eagles, with the Chiefs considered the favorites in the Super Bowl odds.

2025 favorite for Super Bowl MVP odds
Here are the latest Super Bowl MVP odds according to DraftKings as of Sunday, February 26.

Patrick Mahomes (+110).
Mahomes showed off his legs again in a playoff victory. His two touchdowns helped Kansas City beat the Buffalo Bills for the AFC Championship for the second time in the Chiefs' dynasty.

The Chiefs are two-time Super Bowl champions, and Mahomes was the Super Bowl MVP each time. Now Kansas City is once again the odds-on favorite to start the Super Bowl to beat a team it already beat two years ago in this arena.

Someone else on the Chiefs will have to show some raw ability to win this award over their quarterback in a historic three-peat for the team.

Super Bowl 2025 MVP odds: Darkhorse contenders
Saquon Barkley (+250).
If there was an NFL playoff MVP award, Barkley could be up for it on the eve of the Super Bowl. The Eagles' freshman quarterback entered Sunday's NFC Championship Game with a league-record 324 rushing yards and two touchdowns in the postseason. He totaled three scores and 118 yards in the game against the Washington Commanders.

Jalen Hurts (+300).
In the Eagles' first two wins in the postseason, Hurts has gained a total of 259 yards. On Sunday, he completed 20 of 28 passes for 246 yards and one touchdown, while also making three throws on 10 attempts (16 yards).

If the Chiefs somehow contain Barkley in the Big Game, Hurts could be on pace to win the award.

Super Bowl MVP predictions and long odds
Jalen Carter (+7000).
I shouldn't criticize the top three names on the odds table and why they are there. However, unless you're betting on Mahomes at +110 odds, I'd rather pay attention to the longshots.

Carter, a ninth-round pick two years ago, was named to the All-Pro second team in his second season after 4.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. He had one more fumble in the divisional round and has seven sacks to his credit in the first two playoff games.

If the Eagles want to stop the Chiefs, it's going to take some serious work by the defense. A winning bet of $10 at +7000 odds will return a profit of $700.
