Eagles Super Bowl history: Records, wins and past performances

The Philadelphia Eagles return to the Big Game for the second time in three seasons, and they will face a familiar foe in the form of the Kansas City Chiefs. Super Bowl 2025 kicks off on Sunday, February 9 at 6:30PM ET (FOX) at Caesars Superdome Arena.

We take a look at the Eagles' Super Bowl history as Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley and others look to bring the Lombardi Trophy back to the city of brotherly love. Our top Super Bowl betting sites have Philadelphia as the underdog with a 1.5 point handicap and a 49.5 point total before the Chiefs vs. Eagles.

How many Super Bowls have the Eagles won?
The Eagles have won one Super Bowl in their 91-year history. They have also won three NFL championships, which occurred before the NFL and AFL merger.

Philadelphia's only Big Game victory came in Super Bowl 52 against the New England Patriots. Quarterback Nick Foles had one of the most legendary performances in NFL playoff history and defeated the Eagles in a 41-33 thriller.

Nick Foles turns 36 years old today, but “Philadelphia” is timeless.

Jalen Hurts and Co. could taste victory in Super Bowl 57, but a Kansas City field goal in the final seconds of the game led them to defeat. Two years later, Philadelphia had a chance to redeem themselves and win their second Lombardi Trophy in eight seasons.

In our Super Bowl history, the Chiefs detail the Eagles' 2025 Super Bowl opponent.

Where do the Eagles rank in terms of Super Bowl victories?
Philadelphia has won one Super Bowl in club history, which ranks 16th in NFL history. The Eagles have won as many Super Bowls as teams like the Chicago Bears, New Orleans Saints, New York Jets and Seattle Seahawks.

If the Chiefs vs. the Eagles win and defy the odds of a Super Bowl, they will move up to No. 11 in the rankings along with the Baltimore Ravens, Indianapolis Colts, Los Angeles Rams, Miami Dolphins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If Philadelphia fails to win, it will still be the champion among the 12 teams that have never lifted the Lombardi Trophy over their heads.

How many times have the Eagles been to the Super Bowl?
The Eagles have gone to the Super Bowl four times, and Super Bowl 59 will be their fifth in franchise history.

Philadelphia first participated in the championship game after the merger in Super Bowl 15, where they were beaten 27-10 by the Oakland Raiders. Nearly 24 years later, the Eagles lost their next Super Bowl to the Patriots before getting revenge against New England in Super Bowl 52.

That 41-33 victory over the Patriots remains their only win in the Big Game. Philadelphia has a 1-3 record in Super Bowls prior to Super Bowl 59.
