Former Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett asked to be traded from the Cleveland Browns on Monday, and the Las Vegas Raiders and Washington Commanders are the odds-on favorites to be Myles Garrett's next team.
Garrett is a finalist for the 2025 NFL Defensive Player of the Year after winning the award last season. He was named to the All-Pro list for the second consecutive season - and fourth time in his career - after recording 14 sacks and three forced fumbles through all 17 games.
However, the Browns went just 3-14 this season and finished in last place in a very competitive AFC North. The team is stuck in mediocrity as long as Deshaun Watson is at the quarterback position, and it's hard to envision a path to success for Cleveland, at least while the 29-year-old Garrett is in his prime.

Myles Garrett asked for an exchange.
Not surprisingly, the Browns have 31 teams on their list of potential trade partners. It's not often you get to see a 29-year-old EDGE defensive lineman who was the season's MVP a year ago. That's the top position in the first round of the NFL Draft, and acquiring the experienced Garrett is far more attractive to most teams than trying to take a chance on a draft pick - especially those in win-now mode.
The Raiders are the favorites at +280 odds, which implies a 26.32% win probability and yields a $28 profit on a $10 bet.
However, this market is expected to be hotly contested, with the highest odds of +4200 on the Falcons, Panthers and Cardinals still representing a 2.33% implied win probability. The best NFL betting sites aren't ruling anyone out this offseason.
Myles Garrett's prediction for the next team
At this early stage of the offseason - and for a player of Garrett's caliber - cap space doesn't matter. Teams will have plenty of time for other cuts, negotiations, and restructuring to make sure everyone is willing to trade Garrett.
The Buffalo Bills (+850) have gotten a lot of buzz over general manager Brandon Beane's previous comments, as Buffalo is constantly trying to overcome the obstacle that is the Kansas City Chiefs in the postseason.
I think it is much more likely that the Browns will select a trade partner from the NFC. Regardless of the timing of their struggles, they will want Garrett to face them as infrequently as possible. With that in mind, I'm interested in the Detroit Lions (+1000). A $10 bet won would yield a $100 profit.
Sure, Aidan Hutchinson is the star of the Lions defense. But as soon as he got injured this season, the defense started to have some serious struggles. By pairing Garrett with Hutchinson, Detroit would have the most formidable defensive front in the NFL, and possibly in league history.
The Lions' exit from the divisional round of the postseason will leave no stone unturned, as general manager Brad Holmes will once again try to take the team to the Super Bowl for the first time.
Prediction: Lions (+1000)
Myles Garrett contract details
Garrett, 29, has two years left on the five-year contract he signed with the Browns, which at the time made him the league's highest-paid non-quarterback. According to Over The Cap, he will make $19.7 million for the 2025-26 season and $20.4 million for the 2026-27 season.
Again, for a player at his level, cap and contract don't matter much.
How old is Myles Garrett?
Garrett will be 29 years old in the 2025 season and will turn 30 at the end of December. He was selected by the Browns in the 2017 NFL Draft.
