Georgia soccer team 2025: season outlook: Over-under predictions, odds and schedule

After being the preseason favorite to win the tournament, Georgia failed to translate the SEC championship into titles, losing starting quarterback Carson Beck before a 23-10 loss to Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals.

The Bulldogs will still have a target on their backs next season, even with many key defensive stars headed to the NFL and a new quarterback under center. This is nothing new for head coach Kirby Smart, as he aims to bring a third trophy to Athens.

We'll cover it all in our preview of the 2025 soccer season with predictions too early, odds, schedules and transfer portal updates.

Georgia State soccer title odds 2025
Real-time updated soccer odds from our top soccer betting sites.

We're still waiting on the odds for next year's SEC opener, but it would be surprising if Georgia isn't among the favorites next season even after its early exit in the inaugural 12-game College Football Playoff.

The Bulldogs entered last season as +400 favorites, and two midseason collapses didn't stop Smart and Co. from winning the SEC and taking the No. 2 spot in the CFP. Even after knocking off Georgia in the title game, Carson Beck was one of the favorites until the quarterfinal loss to Notre Dame.

The team will undergo a major roster change this offseason, but with another stellar freshman class and some key players returning to the lineup, we should expect another deep run next year.

2025 Key returning players for the Georgia soccer team (prediction)
Gunner Stockton, QB
Branson Robinson, RB
Nate Frazier, RB
Dillon Bell, WR
Oscar Delp, TE
Ernest Green, LT
Dylan Fairchild, LG
Micah Morris, LG
Jared Wilson, C
Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins, DE
Kristen Miller, DT
C.J. Allen, LB
Terrell Foster, LB
Daniel Harris, CB
Ellis Robinson IV, CB
Joenel Aguero, S
K.J. Bolden, S

After making his first career start in the College Football Playoff, Stockton will have a full offseason as a QB1 through 2025. Young running back Nate Frazier will work with him, one of the team's top receivers Dillon Bell will return, and star tight end Oscar Delp will likely return for his senior season and build up his draft stock.

Although the Bulldogs will lose a lot of professional players on defense, they should return two of their top five defensive linemen - midfielder C.J. Allen and fullback K.J. Bolden. Cornerback Ellis Robinson IV, who was the No. 2 pick in the 2024 recruiting class, should not be discounted.

Daylen Everett, CB (NFL Draft)
Julian Humphrey, CB (transfer portal)
Justin Rhett, CB.
Dan Jackson, defensive back (release)
Jake Pope, S (transfer portal)
Malachi Starks, S (NFL Draft)

Beck has already announced his intention to enter the NFL Draft in 2025, and his teammates Mykel Williams and Malachi Starks could hear their names called in the first round in April. Keep an eye on runner Trevor Etienne, who could return for his senior season or try his hand at a pro career after one year at Georgia.

Team captains Dan Jackson, Tate Rutledge and Chaz Chambliss, who helped the Bulldogs win two league titles in 2021 and 2022, are ineligible to return and have already spent their final season in Athens. That includes leading receivers Dominique Lovett and Arian Smith, who led the team in rebounds, receiving yards and touchdowns last year.

Georgia's 2,025 soccer recruits who transferred to the team
Elijah Griffin, DL (No. 5 in the country, No. 1 in the state of Georgia)
Isaiah Gibson, ED (No. 9 in the country, No. 2 in the state of Georgia)
Zaiden Walker, LB (No. 25 nationally, No. 4 in the state)
Talyn Taylor, WR (No. 32 nationally, No. 1 IL)
Elisse Williams, TE (No. 36 nationally, No. 5 GA)
C.J. Wiley, WR (No. 76 nationally, No. 11 GA)
Darren Eakinnagbon, ED (No. 94, #2 NJ)
For the ninth consecutive season, Georgia has recruited a top-five class led by top-10 recruits Elijah Griffin and Isaiah Gibson, who should immediately establish themselves on the defensive line. The Bulldogs also brought in three four-star pass catchers who will help bolster the weapons at Stockton's disposal for the 2025 season.

Oddly, Georgia has yet to bring in any players through the transfer portal, though Smart and his staff still have plenty of time in the spring and summer to target transitioning players and fill out the depth chart for next season.

After going all the way to the SEC Tournament last year with two losses, Georgia faces another tough test in 2025 on its way to Atlanta.

The Bulldogs will start with two home games against the cupcakes before traveling to Tennessee in Week 3. Two weeks later, they'll host Alabama in a rematch of last year's first loss, and on Nov. 15, they'll host Texas between the hedges for the first time in school history.

Georgia soccer team prediction and expert analysis for 2025
While it would be foolish to doubt Smart and the Bulldogs, this will be the biggest rebuild for Georgia in recent memory. Four offensive line players could leave for the NFL, like Beck, Etienne and possibly Delp.

Stockton hasn't played enough yet to see if he really fits the QB role, and wide receiver has been a huge problem this season and doesn't look like it's going to get any better. Re-loading through the portal and adding talent around Frazier, especially at the receiver position, could be the key to Georgia becoming SEC champs again.

The defense will lose even more, but Smart has proven that through talent acquisition and scheme, this will always be a top-notch unit. However, with Tennessee, Alabama, Ole Miss and Texas on the Bulldogs' schedule, I wouldn't be confident in taking the over at 9.5 wins or higher unless there are new playmakers on offense.
