Which Coins Do Crypto Casinos Actually Accept? We Counted

We verified the accepted-coin lists of 24 gambling cashiers. Bitcoin is missing from two of them, Litecoin nearly matches it, and USDT beats USDC two to one.

Key takeaways

  • We went through the cashier pages and terms of all 26 operator cards we maintain and could verify the accepted-coin list on 24 of them. Two didn't publish one we could reach, so they're out.
  • Bitcoin isn't universal. It's missing from 2 cashiers of 24 — and one brand takes 16 different coins while skipping BTC entirely.
  • Litecoin turns out to be the quiet workhorse: 21 of 24 cashiers take it, nearly matching Bitcoin's 22.
  • The stablecoin gap is real. USDT shows up in 17 cashiers; USDC in just 8.
  • The median gambling cashier accepts 5 coins. The extremes sit at over 150 (BC.Game) and exactly one (three US-facing casinos that are BTC-only).

How we counted

This isn't survey data. We maintain operator cards for every casino, sportsbook and poker room we review, and each card carries the coin list we verified against the brand's own cashier or published terms. For this index we took the 24 cards with a confirmed list and simply counted. Where a site accepts a coin on several networks — USDT on ERC-20 and TRC-20, say — that's one coin, not two.

Two brands wouldn't let us verify anything (their sites serve nothing readable outside their target markets), so they're excluded rather than guessed at. When they publish a list we can check, we'll fold them in.

Bitcoin has holes in it

The headline surprise: two cashiers in our set skip BTC. One is a poker-first brand whose deposit menu lists sixteen coins — Solana, Cardano, even ApeCoin — with Bitcoin nowhere on it. We double-checked because we didn't believe our own card. The likely reason is fees and confirmation times on the deposit flows they've built, but whatever the cause, "every crypto casino takes Bitcoin" is now simply false.

At the other end, three US-facing casinos on the same gaming platform accept Bitcoin and nothing else. If you hold anything other than BTC, a third of the single-coin cashiers in this market are closed to you.

Litecoin earned its spot

Nobody writes headlines about LTC anymore, and yet it's within one cashier of matching Bitcoin's coverage. Operators keep it because it settles fast and cheap, and players keep using it for exactly the same reason. If you gamble regularly and hate waiting on confirmations, a small LTC balance is arguably more useful than an ETH one — Ethereum trails at 19 despite ten times the market cap.

The stablecoin gap

USDT's 71% coverage against USDC's 33% is the most lopsided pair in the table. Gambling runs on Tether the way trading does, and Circle's compliance posture probably doesn't help USDC here: a coin with a freeze function is a harder sell to operators whose whole pitch is friction-free money. Whatever the mechanics, if you keep your bankroll in stablecoins, keep it in USDT — twice as many doors open.

Five coins is normal, 150 is marketing

Half the cashiers take five coins or fewer. The big menus — 150+ currencies at one brand, 19 at another — exist mostly so the brand can say yes to whatever you're holding, including tokenized stocks and meme coins with a shelf life of weeks. Nothing wrong with that, but depth of coin support tells you about the wallet infrastructure a casino licenses, not about how it treats players. A BTC-only cashier with fast payouts beats a 150-coin cashier that drags its feet.

What to do with this

Match your coin to the venue before you deposit, not after. Our casino and sportsbook pages show each brand's accepted coins on the card, filtered to brands that actually accept players in your country — the same data this index is built from. And if geography rather than coins is your problem, our country availability index covers that side.

We'll re-run this count when the set changes. New brands join, cashiers add chains, and at least one operator will eventually notice it forgot Bitcoin.
