Best crypto sportsbooks in Italy
8 crypto sportsbooks in our database accept players from Italy. Ranked by our own testing — bonus value, payout speed, accepted coins and support. This page is fixed to Italy; other pages follow the country you pick.
Advertising disclosure: we may earn a commission when you join an operator via links on this page, at no cost to you. This never dictates our ratings. How we make money
Italy runs one of Europe's most tightly controlled betting markets. Legal online sports betting goes through operators holding a concession from the Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli (ADM), and those sites generally take euros through regular payment methods, not crypto. Crypto sportsbooks usually sit outside that system. Check any site against ADM's own list of licensed operators before assuming it's an ADM concessionaire.
That has practical consequences. ADM keeps a blacklist of unlicensed gambling domains, and Italian internet providers are required to block them, so a site that works one week can disappear behind a block page the next. Many offshore books also list Italy as a restricted country in their own terms. If you sign up anyway, you may not get the protections that come with an ADM licence, such as Italian dispute channels and the national self-exclusion register. You have to be 18 or older to bet in Italy.

Paying from Italy
Most Italians who use crypto sportsbooks buy coins on an exchange first, usually with a SEPA bank transfer or a card, then send them to the betting site. Under EU MiCA rules, some exchanges have restricted certain stablecoins for EU users. Players who want dollar-pegged balances often end up using USDC rather than USDT, depending on what their exchange supports. Familiar local methods like PostePay, Satispay or bonifico bancario won't fund an offshore crypto book directly. And some banks look closely at transfers linked to gambling or crypto. Expect network fees on every deposit and withdrawal, and keep records of each transaction for tax purposes.
Is it legal in Italy?
ADM regulates gambling in Italy, and only ADM-licensed operators can legally offer betting to Italian residents. Unlicensed sites can be blacklisted and blocked at the ISP level. Gambling advertising is broadly banned under the 2018 Decreto Dignità. Crypto itself is legal to own. Crypto service providers have had to register with the OAM, and the EU's MiCA regulation now applies, with Consob and the Bank of Italy as the national supervisors. Crypto gains are taxable, and the rates and thresholds have changed in recent budget laws, so confirm the current rules with a commercialista. Laws and enforcement change, and this isn't legal or tax advice.
Italy — frequently asked
Are crypto sportsbooks licensed in Italy?
Crypto sportsbooks generally aren't ADM concessionaires, and ADM-licensed bookmakers usually don't accept crypto. Check ADM's official list of licensed operators before you sign up anywhere.
Why can't I open a betting site from Italy?
ADM blacklists unlicensed gambling domains, and Italian ISPs have to block them. Many offshore sites also restrict Italian players in their own terms, which can affect withdrawals if you break those rules.
Do I pay tax on crypto I use for betting?
Selling or swapping crypto can create a taxable gain under Italian rules, and the rates have changed in recent budget laws. Keep transaction records and check the current position with a tax advisor.
What's the minimum age for betting in Italy?
You must be 18 or older. Gambling should stay entertainment, never a way to make money. If it stops feeling that way, ADM's self-exclusion register and support services exist for exactly that.
