Prediction for Chiefs vs. Eagles, Super Bowl odds and betting odds today: Will Barkley pull off a huge upset?

We're at that point in Super Bowl week when the glamor and pageantry of the event begins to build, and top-tier celebrities come to radio and elsewhere to promote their latest project.

In the meantime, we're just waiting for the game, which takes place Sunday at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans (6:30 p.m. ET, FOX), and in the meantime, dive into today's predictions for Chiefs vs. Eagles and Super Bowl betting odds.

Anticipation is building and our patience is wearing thin. But to pass the time, we've put together a slew of Super Bowl predictions based on today's Super Bowl odds.

Who will win the Super Bowl: Eagles

All we need for this game is the presence of Saquon Barkley.

Yes, the Chiefs boast a quality defense that ranked eighth in the regular season. But opponents don't seem to matter much to Barkley in a season where he's been an unstoppable running back every week. And even if he slows down for a while, his at least one home run seems inevitable, often leading to a long touchdown.

During the playoffs alone, Barkley gained 78, 60 and 62 yards, with two of them coming in one game against the Los Angeles Rams in the divisional round.

But this isn't a new fun trick on his part. He also scored on a 68-yard run against the Washington Commanders in Week 16, and in the regular season he came on as a substitute twice, running for 70-plus yards. He leads the league in rushing for 50-plus yards with six, many of which ended in the end zone.
 

This game will be a battle of the margins. Our top Super Bowl betting sites agree with that assessment, having set a spread so narrow that it hasn't changed since Super Bowl odds opened.

And with that in mind, the Eagles' swarming secondary and ferocious passing game could provide a narrow edge and a source of a lead.

Yes, the Chiefs always find themselves under the spotlight, and they seem to climb out of any hole or get ahead after every late-game drive. But the league's best defense has every chance to keep Patrick Mahomes and Co. from igniting fireworks.

And if that scenario works, and the game is less efficient than the 49 or 48.5 total suggests (though it's going down a bit), the Eagles' high-powered offense will be able to dictate the tempo and control the clock. That's the scenario I'm basing one of our Super Bowl score predictions on.

Who will win the Super Bowl?
Embrace the fear that comes with playing against the Chiefs in the playoffs. Even wrap yourself in it and take the Eagles at the moneyline.

If you think this is the one time the Chiefs will be on the losing end of a one-point game after winning 12 such games this season, including the playoffs, the Eagles moneyline offers a slightly more appealing route.   

Chiefs (-115 via Caesars).
The Chiefs remain the favorite. The odds could change many more times before the match, but at the moment the favorite, Chiefs, seems almost unchanged.

However, Caesars are offering an unusual price on them, while the other top sports betting sites are offering odds of -120 on Chiefs at moneyline.
