NFL playoff odds: 2025 Super Bowl betting lines and hypothetical matchups

And then there were four. The two teams - the Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders - will meet at Caesars Superdome Arena in New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX on Feb. 9 at 6 p.m. ET (FOX) to wrap up the NFL playoffs.

We analyze the odds for the Super Bowl and potential 2025 NFL championship games and analyze the betting lines. Philadelphia is the Super Bowl favorite, but how will the Eagles match up against Buffalo or Kansas City?

Super Bowl LIX predictions talk about the favorites at our top NFL betting sites. The most important conclusion is that the winner of the AFC Championship will be the early favorite, regardless of which team makes it to the next round.

Super Bowl 2025 matchup overview and odds
Odds for Bills vs. Chiefs

  • When: Sunday, Feb. 9
  • Kickoff: 6 p.m. ET
  • How to watch: FOX
  • Location: Caesars Superdome (New Orleans)
  • Spread: Bills -4.5 (-115 via FanDuel)
  • Total: 53.5

If these two teams meet in the Super Bowl, there will be fireworks. It will be a clash between two of the league's most history-weary fanbases. And, as the hypothetical total indicates, two of the most explosive offenses with a pair of star signal-callers at the helm.

Our top sports betting sites favor Buffalo by a 4.5-point margin. Josh Allen, a contender for NFL MVP, is likely the biggest reason for this difference, as he has more experience than Jayden Daniels.

Odds for the match Bills vs. Eagles

  • When: Sunday, Feb. 9
  • Kickoff: 6 p.m. ET
  • How to watch: FOX
  • Location: Caesars Superdome (New Orleans)
  • Spread: Bills -1.5 (-110 via FanDuel)
  • Total: 48.5

Buffalo has shown the world that it can stop a team when it matters most, despite having the 12th-ranked defense in the NFL. The Bills held Baltimore's superstar tandem of Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry to under 125 total yards. There is a belief that they could limit the impact of Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley in a potential Super Bowl.

Allen and Co. are 1.5-point favorites in a hypothetical matchup with Philadelphia in our top sports betting apps.

Odds for the Chiefs vs. Eagles matchup

  • When: Sunday, Feb. 9
  • Kickoff: 6 p.m. ET
  • How to watch: FOX
  • Location: Caesars Superdome (New Orleans)
  • Spread: Chiefs -1.5 (-106 via FanDuel)
  • Total: 45.5

Both Kansas City and Philadelphia are favorites to win their respective conference championships. Therefore, the odds believe a rematch for Super Bowl LVII is just around the corner. In February 2023, Patrick Mahomes and Co. defeated the Eagles by a score of 38-35. However, in the rematch, the total will be 45.5 points, which means our top bookmakers don't expect the teams to score that often.

The Chiefs and Eagles have two of the NFL's top three scoring defenses. Bookmakers have more faith that the Mahomes will show more consistency, as Kansas City is a 1.5-point favorite in a hypothetical rematch.

Odds for the Chiefs vs.

  • When: Sunday, Feb. 9
  • Kickoff: 6 p.m. ET
  • How to watch: FOX
  • Location: Caesars Superdome (New Orleans)
  • Spread: Chiefs -4.5 (-108 via FanDuel)
  • Total: 49.5

This is another case where experience gets a vote of confidence from the odds. Kansas City's easiest hypothetical path to a three-point win is a game against Washington. According to our NFL odds, the Chiefs open with a 4.5-point spread.

However, the Chiefs likely won't see much more than a two-point spread after what they did to the Detroit defense.

How are the NFL playoffs structured?
Starting in 2020, the NFL has an expanded playoff field of 14 teams (seven in each conference). This eliminates the bye week for the second-place team and increases the wild-card weekend to six games from Saturday through Monday.

The top-ranked team in each conference will still be eligible for a bye week in the first round of the playoffs, while the remaining three division winners will host the three wild-card teams and the highest-ranked teams will face the lowest-ranked teams (No. 2 vs. No. 7, No. 3 vs. No. 6, No. 4 vs. No. 5).

The winners of these games will advance to the divisional round, where the highest-ranked teams will meet the lowest-ranked teams. Thus, the highest ranked team will meet the worst ranked team, which is always the fourth or worst ranked team, and the remaining two teams will meet in another divisional round game.

The two winners of each conference will meet in the AFC Championship and NFC Championship, which will be played on Sunday, and the winners of their respective conferences will meet two weeks later in the Super Bowl.
