Eagles Super Bowl odds and why they will win

Two years after Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs broke their hearts in the Super Bowl, the Philadelphia Eagles are knocking on the door of the big game again.

Our Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl odds analysis shows why we think Nick Sirianni's team can hoist the Lombardi Trophy for the first time since 2018. At the same time, our expert Jackson Cowart offers his Super Bowl odds analysis on the Chiefs as the NFC East rivals prepare to do battle in the NFC Championship.

Our top NFL betting sites have Philadelphia as a 6-point favorite over Washington ahead of Sunday's 3 p.m. ET matchup at Lincoln Financial Field.

Eagles Super Bowl Odds
Best Odds: +185 via bet365 | Estimated Odds: 35.09%

In the NFC Championship, Philadelphia is trailing by nearly a point, and in the AFC Championship, Kansas City is trailing by 1.5 points against Buffalo. Thus, the Eagles are the Super Bowl favorites ahead of the penultimate round of the NFL playoffs.

Most of our top sports betting sites are offering +175 or +180 odds on Philadelphia winning the Super Bowl LIX. However, bet365 is offering the best price on the market at +185. A $10 win bet at that price would yield $18.50 profit.

Why the Eagles will win the Super Bowl

Hurts and his weapons
It's not a stretch to think that Jalen Hurts might be the worst quarterback of the four remaining starters. Of course, that says more about the talent of the other three quarterbacks than it does about Hurts' play.

The Alabama and Oklahoma native has shown time and time again in his NFL career that he is capable of leading a team into the postseason. Herts has more weapons now than ever before, so the aforementioned argument doesn't matter in the slightest.

Howie Roseman made arguably the most important acquisition of the offseason when he signed NFL MVP candidate Saquon Barkley. Barkley has helped take some of the load off of Hurts and the passing game as he has racked up over 2,300 yards and 15 touchdowns this season.

When you consider Philadelphia's incredible offensive line, a steady quarterback and two wide receivers who would be the No. 1 option on most NFL teams, it's hard to find weaknesses in the Eagles' offense.

Kellen Moore's team is averaging 27 points per game this year, which ranks seventh in the league. They have also surpassed the 20-point mark in 15 straight games since Sept. 29, making it an incredibly difficult task for the Eagles.

Defensive Excellence
Philadelphia's offense is impressive, but Vic Fangio's defense sets the tone for this team.

The Eagles defense has improved in all three phases since last season, as evidenced by the fact that they rank first in many statistical categories. Perhaps the most important of these is points per game, in which the Eagles rank first in the league in allowing just 17.6 points per game.

Philadelphia's defense is allowing just -0.1 EPA/game. That's second behind Denver (-0.12) and the best among all teams remaining in the playoffs. Buffalo (-0.01), Washington (0.01) and Kansas City (0.01) rank 13th, 16th and 17th in this category, respectively.

Overall, the main reason the Eagles can win the Super Bowl is because they are the most balanced team. They have the fewest weaknesses and the easiest path to the big game, according to our early predictions and odds for the Commanders vs. Eagles matchup.

Eagles key players
Jalen Hurts, QB: Hurts isn't flashing stats this season, but he doesn't need to. He takes care of the soccer, not allowing a single interception in the last eight games, and allows the players around him to lead the offense to victory.

Saquon Barkley (RB): Barkley has without a shadow of a doubt become the best non-quarterback in the NFL this season. He leads the league with 2,638 yards from the ground on 435 touches, which is an average of over six yards per game. Barkley shows video game stats against the best players on the planet, and he's a huge reason for the success of Philadelphia's offense.

Zach Baun, LB: Baun has been a revelation in the heart of Philadelphia's defense this season. The fifth-year defensive lineman perfectly reflects his importance and versatility with 151 defensive snaps, 3.5 sacks, five forced fumbles, four interceptions and one fumble.

Quinnion Mitchell, CB: The Eagles had serious concerns about their secondary at the beginning of the season, but the newly signed defensive lineman has dispelled those concerns with his play at the All-Pro level. Mitchell is the definition of a defensive lineman who operates in tandem with Darius Slay, with an 88.7 passer rating, a -3.4 percent passer rating and 12 interceptions.

How the Eagles achieved success
Record: 14-3
Points per game: 27.1 (T-7)
Points Against: 17.8 (2nd place)
Playoff wins: 22-10 (vs. Packers), 28-22 (vs. Rams)
Philadelphia has the most complete roster of any remaining team, if not all 32 NFL franchises. Nick Sirianni's team plays fantastic fundamental soccer, and you can't argue with that. If they continue to rely on their superstars and stay true to that strategy, the sky is the limit for the Eagles.
